SOLD SPARROW Gjest X Cindy/Ostar

Dressage-Trained Beauty with Presence Galore! - Sparrow is a 1998 mare, sired by Gjest and out of our own beautiful Dutch-imported 1st premium mare Cindy. Sparrow is as beautiful as her mother, with a gorgeous head and good conformation.

Sparrow is trained in dressage riding and besides having good basic work she also performs the more advanced lateral work such as shoulder-in, travers, renvers, and half-passes.

Sparrow's show ring successes include winning the Mares Conformation Class at the Ontario Fjord Show as well as the Open Riding Champion and Dressage Reserve Champion at that show.

At the Finger Lakes Fjord Show, where she was ridden by an 18 year old girl, Sparrow won both the Junior Rider Championship and Dressage Reserve Championship (behind her full brother Vili).

At the 2004 Ontario Fjord Show, Sparrow was Champion Mare under judge Mr. Bob van Bon, Chief Inspector of Fjords of the Netherlands. Sparrow was also awarded the Netherlands Fjord Studbook Gold Medal for Best Mare.

Sparrow has been evaluated in the NFHR evaluation system and achieved a Blue Ribbon in Conformation/Movement.

SOLD PJOSKA Leik (Grabb) X Hilda/Dragtind

Strikingly Beautiful Grey Mare

Grey mare with size, substance, and beauty. 14 year old mare, standing 14.2 hh, with good bone and a gorgeous head.

A proven broodmare, she has had four foals, two were grey. Cycles regularly, easy to breed, foals easily and is a very good mother. These are all important qualities that we want to preserve in the Fjord breed. Pjoska would be a super cross with Mogly, with a bonus of 44% chance of grey offspring, and a breeding could be included in her price.

Pjoska is sired by Leik, a son of the 1 pr. 1 avk.pr. stallion Grabb, and her dam sire is Dragtind 3pr, also imported from Norway. In fact all her breeding goes straight back to Norway. Both Pjoska's sire and dam were brown duns, and my personal non-scientific belief is that one or two brown duns in the mix results in the nicest looking greys.

While she is not a huge mover her movement is straight, true, correct and just SO comfortable to ride. She has also produced better movers than herself when bred to stallions with really good movement. This is an area where Mogly could add a lot. Pjoska has a very balanced and comfortable canter and Mogly would add even more quality in terms of ground-cover and air-time.
