Ten year old brown dun gelding. Tall sporty Fjord with longer body type, easy to bend and go sideways. Extremely attractive, super handsome head, charming and people-oriented, lots of dressage training. Ready to do first level, schooling second level. Soft mouth, easy to ride round. Sound and healthy, no vices, well-handled and well-cared for, gets along with other horses, up-to-date on all veterinary care.
Tyvjo (pronounced Teev-Yo) was bred here at Bluebird Lane, and combines the exceptional bloodlines of our imported ster & prestatie stallion Mogly, out of Bocina, a super daughter of my former top dressage horse Prisco, also a successful pleasure- and combined-driving horse. I’ve ridden all three of these wonderful horses extensively, and it’s so gratifying to see their traits coming together in this remarkable gelding, who is rising five years old.

Oriole’s breeding shows in her overall quality, wonderful conformation, and impressive movement. She is of definite breeding quality. Sire’s dam is grey so she carries possibility of grey dun.
Nine year old brown dun gelding, standing 14.3 ½ hh. This is a tall, slim-built, and leggy Fjord horse, well-suited for dressage and sport.
Alix has been in full training with Lori for six months, ready to show at Training level this summer. He is currently working on his leg yields and shoulder-in.
So many people tell me they are looking for a horse they can feel safe on, but not a plodding slow boring plug of a horse. Rellie is that safe yet fun horse! When we come back from a ride, whether alone or with other horses, Rellie’s rider always says “Ahhh, that was just SO lovely!”
Three year old Mogly daughter with the sweetest temperament. Wren is calm and willing, a quick learner who is compliant and accepting of all that comes her way.
Wren has been well-handled since birth and this summer we have gently started her formal training, introducing her to a wide variety of situations, with an older horse to show her how it’s done. Wren leads calmly all around the farm, stands perfectly, has been lightly started on the lunge line and responds beautifully to voice commands. She is well-mannered, great on the cross-ties, loves to be groomed, and walks into the wash rack willingly where she stands quietly enjoying her bath.
Levi is a six year old gelding, 14.2 1/2 hh with an elegant sporty build. He has been in full-time training under saddle for seven months and is ready to show at Training Level. Very steady and light in the contact.
Levi has recently started going out on hacks and he really enjoys it. He is a very calm and trusting boy, and his reaction if he gets worried about something is to slow down.
A very handsome horse, with gorgeous dark Fjord markings, Levi is just a pet in the barn. A+ manners. A wonderful horse to work with and a real pleasure to be around.

Storjo (pronounced Stor-Yo) is just adorable and quite a character. He always makes us chuckle. A friendly and personable horse, he seeks out attention and loves to spend time with people.
Started under saddle this past summer, and in full training since then, Storjo is working reliably in walk/trot/canter. He is easy to put together, and nice and steady in the contact. He works on his own without pushing, and comes back when asked.
Bocina is a nine year old, 14.2 hh, brown dun mare. Her sire is Prisco who was imported from Holland. Prisco and Lori showed successfully up to Third Level dressage and trained at Fourth level. Prisco is now also competing successfully in Pleasure- and Combined-driving.
Bocina has been owned by Bluebird Lane since she was a yearling, and was raised and trained here. She has had the best of care and training her entire life.
This gelding was bred for temperament and movement and it shows! Tyvjo (pronounced Teev-Yo) is sired by Mogly (ster and prestatie) and is out of Bocina, a daughter of Prisco.
He will be tall, standing 14 hh already at only a year. Will likely mature at 14.3 hh or taller. Tyvjo is calm and quiet, and happily accepts everything that comes his way. He really wants to please!
Sparrow is a 1998 mare, sired by Gjest and out of our own beautiful Dutch-imported 1st premium mare Cindy. Sparrow is as beautiful as her mother, with a gorgeous head and good conformation.
Sparrow is trained in dressage riding and besides having good basic work she also performs the more advanced lateral work such as shoulder-in, travers, renvers, and half-passes.
Grey mare with size, substance, and beauty. 14 year old mare, standing 14.2 hh, with good bone and a gorgeous head.
A proven broodmare, she has had four foals, two were grey. Cycles regularly, easy to breed, foals easily and is a very good mother. These are all important qualities that we want to preserve in the Fjord breed. Pjoska would be a super cross with Mogly with a possibility of grey offspring.
We were in Norway with Julie Will when she bought Einar’s sire and dam, the stallion Fløtren and the mare Eidsa Solja. We also got to see Eidsa Solja’s sire Hildmann at his 8 year old evaluation in Nordfjordeid. So we were very familiar with Einar’s bloodlines, and had a good idea of what type of horse he would be. We were not disappointed, as Einar is an individual of good type, very nice gaits, and a super intelligent and willing personality. Einar’s early care and handling was top quality, and he has had all positive experiences, making him a willing worker and a real “people horse”.

Here she is – a mature proven mare with training and mileage! Raldiene is a 1996 mare, well-trained for both school riding and trails. Her very comfortable rocking-horse canter endears her as a lesson or lunge-lesson horse, plus she has plenty of trail experience and is a proven broodmare.
Myrrikse (MEER-rik-sa) is a beautiful FELIX daughter, 2 and a half years old. She is a lovely mover with a particularly exciting trot, combining power, rhythm and suspension. Big free walk with a lot of freedom in the shoulders. Gorgeous head, lovely balanced conformation and beautiful topline. Will be tall, stands over 14hh already.
Greta is something of a “limited edition” being a daughter of Prisco. This beautiful young mare exemplifies many of Prisco’s best qualities. Greta’s dam is Penfrydd’s Molly, a Solar daughter out of a Brusvein daughter and grand-daughter of our great 1.premie mare Cindy. Wonderful breeding on top and bottom of this pedigree.
Valebu is a five year old grey dun gelding standing 14.1 hh. He has an uphill build and a great attitude. Valebu has three excellent gaits with an especially good canter. Both Valebu’s trot and his canter are springy and elastic and feel just great to ride! His walk is super, it is forward with large overtrack and natural rhythm with no tension.
Wonderful 2005 filly – very well put together, with exceptional breed type and a lovely temperament. Very nice canter.

Vili possesses a good walk of good rhythm and relaxation, powerful forward-moving trot, and an uphill, rolling canter.

Jaeger (pronounced Yaeger) is handsome, athletic, well-bred, and just SO easy to get along with! Two year old gelding with an outstanding trot, this fellow really gets up off the ground and moves. Jaeger will be tall and elegant, should finish around 14.3 hh. He is an attractive golden shade of brown dun.
Three year old brown dun gelding. Waldo is a good mover with nice freedom in his shoulder and push from behind. He has a well-shaped neck of good length coming up nicely out of his shoulders. Waldo has been well-handled, he responds to light aids, and he is never inclined to be pushy.
Attractive brown dun yearling stud colt with adorable face, strong chest and big round hindquarters. This colt is very well-mannered, eager to please, and easy-going.
Lori seems to bring out the strengths in every horse, and works to nudge away any problems. Every horse in the barn was unique and she was working with each of them to create living, breathing, trusting works of art…
I realize this note makes Lori and Bluebird Lane Fjords and Bocina sound too good to be true, but over the last few months I have been consistently amazed, even though I already knew I’d connected with one of the great Fjord farms.
